Feasibility studies

Site feasibility studies

Know what a site can deliver before you commit: yield, massing, planning risk and 3D studies from architects who design and approve buildings every week.

In short

JAM Architects prepares site feasibility studies for developers, landowners and community housing providers in Melbourne and Geelong, testing yield, building envelopes, planning controls and design options before purchase or before a planning application.

Feasibility studies

Decide with confidence

The most important decisions on a project are made before anyone draws a final plan: whether to buy the site, how much to pay, and what to build. A feasibility study gives you a clear, tested answer to those questions.

We look at the planning controls and overlays, the neighbours, the heritage and the market, then test massing and yield options in 3D so you can see the trade-offs.

Because we design and take buildings through planning every week, our feasibility advice reflects what councils and VCAT actually approve, not just what the controls allow on paper.

Questions

Asked and answered

When should I commission a feasibility study?

Ideally before you buy a site or sign a contract, or before you brief a full design for a planning application.

How long does a feasibility study take?

It depends on the site and the questions, but most studies are a matter of weeks rather than months. We confirm the scope and timing with you first.

Do you do feasibility for community housing providers?

Yes. We have designed social housing at Lusher Road, Croydon, for Community Housing Victoria and understand the requirements of those projects.

Do you work on feasibility in Geelong?

Yes, from our Newtown studio.
